SOUTHEAST ALASKA HUNTING We provide transportation services for Alaska hunters. Southeast Alaska is a target-rich environment. Prince of Wales and surrounding Alaska islands have one of the biggest black bear populations in North America. These animals can be accessed in several different ways: 1. Spotting and Stalking is the most common method 2. Via the road system, where you have miles and miles of remote wilderness to hunt 3. You can hike into an out-of-the-way clearcut 4. Register with the Department of Fish and Game to put in a bait site. There are grand opportunities to harvest a Trophy Sitka Blacktail Deer. Early fall alpine hunting is almost always productive. The deer population on Prince of Wales Island and surrounding areas is booming. In the spring you can cruise the Alaska shoreline on low tide and find monster black bears feeding their way down the beach or standing on an open hillside. In the fall all the bears converge on the salmon streams to take advantage of an easy meal.
